Operation & Optimisation

Low-carbon energy systems need ongoing monitoring and optimisation to maintain performance, address emerging issues and protect the value of your investment.

Getting more from installed technology

Once new technology is in use, changing conditions can affect how efficiently it works. HI Group uses engineering analysis to identify where adjustments are needed and help equipment deliver the expected results over time.

Services can be commissioned individually or combined, whether HI Group has supported the earlier stages of the project or is brought in to improve existing installations.

Monitoring, reporting & verification (MRV)
We monitor energy use and system output against agreed baselines and performance measures. Our analysis helps you understand progress towards expected cost and carbon savings, identify unusual trends and prioritise action. Regular reporting tracks what has changed and whether improvements are working.
Seasonal optimisation and soft landing
New systems often need adjustment as they move through their first heating and cooling seasons. We review operating data, controls, setpoints and schedules to identify practical changes that can improve efficiency and comfort. We also work with Facilities teams to help them understand and manage the installed technology.
Heat pump performance review
Higher-than-expected electricity use, poor efficiency or persistent comfort problems can indicate that a heat pump system is underperforming. We investigate the system, its controls and the wider building conditions to identify likely causes and prioritise remedial action. This service can support both new installations and existing systems that are failing to meet expectations.
Heat network performance and HNTAS readiness review
We review heat network performance, metering, controls strategies and asset information to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Ahead of HNTAS registration, we help clients understand their current readiness and address gaps in technical evidence. Once the final technical standards are published, we will assess the network performance against the applicable HNTAS requirement.
